Can a garden grow in the winter?

We planted a winter garden this week! We pulled weeds, treated the soil with minerals, planted seeds, and watered the soil! We will periodically monitor our garden on outdoor recess days and see if our root vegetables grow! 

100th Day Fun!

We had a BLAST celebrating our 100th day of school! The students rotated through eight stations which focused on math and science. Here are some pictures of our special day!

Caldecott Week!

We spent the week diving into possible Caldecott Medal contenders! We read and reviewed so many books. The pictures below show our nominations. The winner will be announced Monday! We can't wait!

 

Holidays around the world!

The week before winter break was spent traveling around the K-1 learning about holiday traditions around the world! We went to Israel, Netherlands, India, and Poland!
